A Rug Hooking Masterclass with Deanne Fitzpatrick,
Four Seasons. Four Patterns. One Creative Journey.
Overview:
A four-part workshop series that celebrates the publication of Deanne’s new book (Hooking the Landscape, Schiffer 2025) that explores the strength and beauty of hooking the landscape.
Each workshop is inspired by one of Deanne’s original rugs. The classes will explore the mystery of the ever changing sky, the four seasons, and our sense of place. It will show you how to interpret land, sky, colour, and your relationship with the place you love. (Original designs and pattern adaptations are encouraged.)
Together, through out the year we’ll create four landscape rugs while we focus on technique and creative vision. We will forge our own connection to the landscape that we know and love.
Each session includes a downloadable seasonal pattern inspired by the original rug, a live video workshop with detailed instruction and Q and A, and creative tools to help you capture your own personal landscape.
Whether you’re a long-time rug hooker or just beginning your journey, this course will help you create a meaningful body of work inspired by the world around you.
