Deanne Fitzpatrick Studio 2nd Annual Online Winter
Rug Hooking Retreat! AND IT'S LIVE!!!
Do you want to spend a beautiful winter weekend with me hooking rugs and drinking tea? Are you up for a cozy adventure? I am!
Life demands a lot of us. It is important to renew ourselves and our creativity by taking time out to make and to feed our spirit.
I have created the second annual Renew: An Online Winter Rug Hooking Retreat. Live!!! for us. On February 22nd and 23rd, we'll be getting together for this warm, cozy online retreat to hook rugs, listen, learn and grow our communities. Join me for an inspirational weekend of mini workshops, a selection of very special speakers and guests, and a community of fellow rug hookers for a transformative experience all in the cozy comfort of your home.
What better way to beat the winter blues than engaging your creative side and doing a bit of self-care in the process. Put on a pot of tea and enjoy presentations from guests Joanna Close, Emily O'Leary, Simone Saunders, Hannah Epstein, Meaghan Ingham, Hayley Perry, Mary Tooley Parker and Sheree Fitch.
Indulge your creative spirit and warm up for a winter weekend
with me and my special guests. We will immerse ourselves and you in a private little world of creativity and rug hooking.
Creative Workshops: We are going to have a series of mini workshops and speakers. We'll be sharing ideas, projects, and techniques. You will be spending the weekend live in the studio with me and my friends.
Inspiring Speakers: We'll connect you with rug hooking teachers and fellow members of the rug hooking community for inspiring talks and conversation as we share stories, tips, and technique throughout our winter weekend together. We are going to ignite your passion for rug hooking and creativity.
Sweet Swag Pack: When you register before January 10th we'll mail you a swag pack that includes four amazing patterns created for the classes and some special surprises. Registrations after this date will receive these as a download.
Community Connection:There are people who share your love for rug hooking and want to connect with you. We'll engage, discuss, imagine, create new ideas and plan new rugs, plus we'll do all that while we hook together over the weekend.
Prizes and Surprises: I love surprises and I know you do to. I want to make the weekend full of beauty and excitement, and one way to do that is with fabulous prizes. I am thinking them up already and we'll be giving away some amazing gifts.
Make a Memory: I have participated in several online retreats over the years. I book the time out just for me and I make myself present to learn. There is a do not disturb sign on me on those weekends, lol! I get lost in learning and creativity and I create a wonderful lasting memory for myself and I leave inspired. I want Renew to do this for you.
You don't want to miss the chance to spend the weekend with me and hook. I am bringing in some fantastic guests, beautiful prizes and some amazing rug hookers for a weekend of connection, beauty, friendship and yes, some joy and inspiration too. We are going to pack it with fun, learning, cozy comfort, prizes, community and inspiration. If this retreat were a bucket it would be over flowing!
Bonus! Register before Jan. 13th and get a swag pack mailed to your door that includes four beautiful paper patterns, and a $50 off coupon for the studio when you spend over $99.
What if I am not available that weekend?
We are recording everything so even if you have to run out unexpectedly, Angela will record all the events and we will make them available to you.
How do I access the retreat?
The retreat will be hosted on Zoom. We will email you a link a few days before it starts. On Saturday Morning when the retreat begins you click the link and join on your computer. If you have any trouble you can call us, or email us and we will have someone help you get on.
How much does it cost?
The cost for the weekend is $397 Canadian (approximately $279 US depending on the exchange)
What if I cannot afford to pay for it all at once?
We want you to come. Just call the studio and talk to Ceilidh and we will make it so that you can pay in two or three payments.
Is the retreat right for me if I am new rug hooker or a beginner?
This retreat is designed for all rug hookers, whatever level you are at, you will learn a lot and get the inspiration you need. We are designing the classes so they will make sense for beginners and for people who have hooked for years
Will I learn anything in this retreat if I have taken lots of courses from you?
Yes you will! For sure. The retreat is not a course, it is a time to restore, and spend time together and grow. I am always learning, always reading, taking courses, growing myself, so that I can be a better teacher. I always come ready to bring new ideas and thoughts to rug hooking. It is a craft and an art that grows and I grow with it. I want you to grow with it too.
Is there a kit for this retreat?
You can use your own supplies for the retreat. We will be offering one of the four designs that are included as a kit, but it is completely optional and just for those who want it. You can work on anything you like during the retreat!
Do I have to order a bunch of supplies to take part in the retreat?
We always want to send you new supplies, but honestly, the retreat is designed for you to work from your stash, and with the supplies you have. So no! You do not have to order any supplies, but if you want to we will happily fill your order.
Do I have to design my own rug?
No, you can hook anything during this class that you want to hook. I will however, be teaching some great design techniques for you to use.
LAST YEAR'S RETREAT WAS AMAZING!...
What did participants think of last year's retreat...

"This is a tough question! So much of it was fabulous. I really enjoyed the dyeing session and also Amy Oxford. When Deanne spoke and drew, and talked about her hooking it was wonderful. I learned a lot from her lesson on altering a pattern. The retreat felt cozy and comfy! Absolutely loved the little off-the-beaten path times such as the hand care, the tasting of chocolate, and the general family feel."

"I was so excited for such a long time, waiting for our retreat! Absolutely loved the swag pack and felt very comfortable that I would be able to participate after seeing your beautiful package! And it was so personal with the tea bag and the starfish! How very clever and thoughtful!! It all left me with a wonderful feeling of belonging and being cared for. Thank you so much for all the work you all put into making the retreat so delightful! Already looking forward to next year!!!".
