Do you experiment to decide if you should use one strand or two? I’m never sure. Something thin like curly lox would probably be 2 but Briggs & Little type would probably be one strand. Am I thinking correctly? Yarn types can be confusing to us newbies! Thanks for your weekly pointers & help!

Thinner usual I want two strands. I do experiment though and do not follow a rule about it.

If you need detail go with one if not use two. You can always pull out the yarn if you don’t like the look of it doubled.
