I'm back with my hooked version of the September pattern of the month.
I love fall and I love pumpkins so this was a win-win situation for me and a great chance to use bright golds and oranges to hook with. I decided to hook white pumpkins this time as I try to force myself to not always hook the colors that would come naturally to me or be too "typical". When we receive these small patterns every month I think it is a fantastic chance to explore some variations and not hook everything predictably. I had intended to hook a grey background but I had just dyed a whole slew of blues in the studio so voila!....blue it is!
This pattern would be lovely with more primitive colors or even with a night sky. I had lots of ideas in my head for this one but this is what I came up with in the end. I had 4 different colors of blue that were similar and I mixed up all my colors of wool strips and fleece and hooked them as they came out of the pile, thats how I created the mottled look in the background.
Enjoy hooking and Happy Fall! We'd love to see your versions on Wild With Wool on Facebook
