it starts with just one colour. You pick a colour and then you go from there.
I add every other colour pretty much one at a time.
I lay it down with the others than I trust my eye. Is it working? Would another colour be better?
I chose this palette which is unfamiliar to me as a landscape because nearly everything is deeply toned because I liked how it looked in a painting that I saw. Whether it will work in a rug I will have to see. Of course If it does not work out I cannot blame the palette. The fault will always be with how I handle it because I know the palette is good.
There are bad palettes and mistakes can be made simply with colour but in this case I think it will be how I handle contrasts and create depth with the colours and design. I am curious to see how it works out.
Drop by and have some tea and homemade oatcakes.
