I like historical non-fiction, so Ross King’s book called Michelangelo and the Pope’s Ceiling, gave me more insight to the process and choices to painting the Sistine Chapel.
I recently saw the Frescoes of the Sistine Chapel that traveled through Seattle and was fascinated by the faces and color of these huge Biblical characters.

I looked again at last week’s Thursday Lives. I see you sometimes add thread when the background isn’t quite wide enough to reach the hooks. I’m not always the swiftest.

The Music of Bees by Eileen Garvin; Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver (one of my favorite authors); Martin Marten by Brian Doyle. All really good books.

I have been reading books by Helen Escott, a NL author. I really enjoyed two of her books that go together…..Operation Wormwood and The Reckoning. Worth the read.

Thanks for sharing Lilly! Lovely lady. Also love Mary and her segment.
Question- Sometimes you just hook backing to the hooks on the frame. Other times you add some twine to backing and hook that around hooks. Any thinking on the difference?
Books- One – is Jon Meahem’s AND THERE WAS LIGHT It is an interesting analysis of Lincoln’s moral evolution and the balance between a politician’s values and those of his
    constituency.
Two – is LESSONS IN CHEMISTRYby Bonnie Gramus. About women’s place in 1960’s science. It looks seriously about sexual inequality, but is laugh out load funny .
