Three Swimmers - 7" x 11" Rug Hooking Pattern or Kit

For years at our beach, I saw women of all ages going into the water. Some of them wore baking suits that they had for thirty years! I love the idea that as we age we keep doing the things that matter and that we value. And here's a little poem I wrote about this mat...

The Swimmers
are not afraid of themselves
or of anyone talking onshore
about how age has changed them
or how they have matured.

Life is grand and they remain as beautiful
in each others eyes as they were
ten years ago when hips were thinner
and their joints were anointed with youth.

The strength they carry now is in their eyes and in hearts that have softened
since forty, fifty, sixty, has slid upon them
and brought with it 
reams of thoughtfulness
about how things begin and end,
and how much the middle can matter.

This package has everything you need to complete this rug:

• A hand drawn pattern on burlap or linen.
• All the yarn and wool cloth you need to complete the kit.
• A rug hook.
• A colour key to tell you what colours go where.
• A colour picture of the completed rug.
• An illustrated set of instructions.

This kit makes a great wall hanging, table mat, or pillow once it is hooked.

Please note this kit is handmade with hand-dyed yarn and wool cloth so colours and textures will vary.

"My first kit was 18 by 30, and I finished it in a week! I was so excited. I have designed all of these kits so you can teach yourself, even if you are a beginner. We choose our hand-dyed and specialty colours carefully so your kit will look as much like the picture as possible. We add plenty of wool, but should you run short of anything or need some help with instructions, you can just email us to help you.
