Mission Statement

After thirty five years of hooking rugs I saw that it was time to find a way to ensure that Deanne Fitzpatrick Studio would be able to give back  for a very long time.  The studio created a foundation to inspire and nurture the creative potential of individuals and communities and just simply give back where it is needed. The Create Beauty Everyday Foundation has donated thousands of dollars to  many organizations in our community. We provided funding to the local library for their children's art programs, the YMCA , local churches for community dinners, food banks and homeless shelters. We just try to live out the saying that my mother in law, Alexandra Mansour coined, "We are here to be good to each other."

Programs and Initiatives we are interested in supporting

We help established community groups with charitable status to carry out their good work in the community. We like to focus on creative and cultural pursuits as well as helping to ensure that people have the necessities of life. When I see the local library post little adventures for children and free art classes I cannot help but think what a difference that would have made in my life as a child, and the difference it makes in the lives of the children who currently participate. The foundation looks at the needs in the community and each year chooses to donate to special projects that are important to our community.

Nominate a Rug Hooker of the Month

We’re excited to introduce Rug Hooker of the Month, a heartfelt way to celebrate the wonderful people who make the Deanne Fitzpatrick Studio community so special. Each month we’ll recognize a customer who is sharing the beauty of rug hooking in their own unique way; someone who creates lovely rugs, encourages others, and brings generosity, kindness, and creativity to their community.

Our Rug Hooker of the Month will receive a custom silver necklace created especially for Deanne Fitzpatrick Studio. We’ll share their story through a feature in our newsletter, Instagram and Facebook. They’ll also be invited for a podcast conversation with Patrick, where we can hear more about their rug hooking journey. To honour their contribution, a donation will be made in their name to the CBE Foundation.

We warmly invite our community to take part by nominating someone who inspires you. If you know a rug hooker who spreads joy, creativity, and encouragement through their work, we would love to hear their story. Nominations can be submitted through the form below.

Every month we’ll select one recipient from the nominations and from the inspiring customers in our community. It’s a small way for us to celebrate the people who make rug hooking such a generous, welcoming, and creative tradition.
