From the moment you walk into the studio you will be immersed in rug hooking and creativity. Each year I like to host a small group of people to learn with me in the studio for three days. During that three days I like to take the time to get to know each person, spend some time with them individually, and help them become the rug hooker/artist they want to be.
This is an intimate live workshop in my studio where I will work with you directly to hook a unique one of a kind hooked rug. You can choose from a selection of one of a kind patterns that I will be creating for the workshop, or I can help you design your own. You get to choose. You get to make the rug you want to make.
The maximum number of participants for this class will be ten people, so there will be time to to explore and learn together. It will be a unique small group experience; a chance to be part of the studio life for a few beautiful days. You'll have the opportunity to retreat with me into your rug hooking. We'll have to time to talk, tell stories and get to know one another as we hook rugs together.
The lessons throughout our time together will emphasize creativity, colour, texture and design for rug hooking. Each year I bring what I have learned in the previous year to my teaching. The three days will be a hooking retreat right here with me in my studio. Each year I add I some activities that will help free up your creativity and bring joy to your rug hooking.
We'll go out to lunch together each day for good food at local restaurants. The studio will have snacks, locally roasted fair trade coffee, tea and of course, oatcakes and fruit.

Workshop Studio open 9 to 5 each day for hooking.
Maximum 10 participants. This is a small group workshop with lots of time to work directly with me (Deanne!).

Workshop includes:
A hand drawn one of a kind pattern by Deanne Fitzpatrick, or choose a pattern from the website if there is one you love, or get assistance in designing your own on linen.
Three days of small group instruction as well as one on one with Deanne.
Coffee, tea, snacks and three lunches.
A non refundable deposit of $250 is included in the fee.
