12 months of Art Dates with me....you could call it The Hooking Sessions as these are quiet lessons with me hooking at the frame showing you my process, tips and ideas for rug hooking and a creative and artful life.
My heart is into these lessons and I've created fresh new lessons each month. Come along and grow with me!
The Inspiration Sessions is an inspirational monthly video series that will engage and inspire you as you work along with me in my studio. We’ll hook together and it will feel like a private one on one lesson in the comfort of your own home. It will encourage, stimulate and ignite your imagination.
It willbe like a personal art date with me each month for twelve months where I’ll share what is currently inspiring me and what I am learning.
Each month I will hook along with you on one of the projects I am working on and share with you my process and inspiration, and focused attention on a special piece. I’ll offer you techniques, tips and ideas to strengthen and develop your rug hooking.
I’ll be sharing stories, philosophy and ideas about living a good life infused with art and creativity.
I want to share my imagination with you so that you can get inspired and carry it into your own life, into your own rugs.
It will be a calming, meditative and thoughtful visit with me in my studio as both you and I work away on our projects.
So grab a cup of tea and get ready for some fun playful inspiration, some good learning, and some company while you hook.
Your Questions Answered
Who are the inspiration sessions for?
The sessions are for the beginner to the seasoned rug hooker. Whether you use kits and patterns or draw all your own designs these sessions are for you.
If you want to build your rug hooking intuition around colour, texture and design and have some company while you hook these sessions are perfect for you.
If you are looking for inspiration to keep your creative juices bubbling, you need a creative jump start, or need to get unstuck these are for you.
Is it a course?
No, the sessions are more like hooking lessons. You will learn things but you won’t have homework you’ll just show up and be part of the experience.
How long are the sessions?
The sessions will be at least an hour each month.
What if I have a question?
You can ask a question in the comments of each session and I’ll answer you there. You answer will show up right where your comment is posted.
How is this different from your Thursday lives?
If you like the Thursday Lives you’ll love the
Inspiration Sessions because the focus will be all on the hooking in a one hour recorded video. It will be like an hour alone with me in my studio and will feel like a one on one visit.
How is it different than the Harbour?
The Harbour is a deep and immersive learning experience while the sessions are more about showing up, being playful, and learning in the moment. I think though if you liked the hooking sessions in the Harbouryou’ll love these videos.
What if I can’t draw?
It does not matter. There are no special requirements needed. You just show up and enjoy the session.
Are there any surprises?
Only good ones! Well, I was thinking that some months I will do an extra little treat video inspiredby the work I did for the Harbour Classes. Maybe a visit or an interview, or a fun activity. But there won’t be any extra fees or anything. You can just work on whatever project you have on the go.
What materials will I need?
You will need at least one rug hooking or creative project to work on. I would also suggest a sketch book for notes and ideas as I plan to do some fun exercises with you through out the year.
Are materials included in the cost?
There are no specific materials for The Inspiration Sessions. You are encouraged to work on whatever hooking project you currently have on the go.
Do I have to go to the sessions at a certain time?
No. You can do the sessions at your own pace, on your own time, logging into the website when ever you want.
When you sign up you get all twelve sessions. The material will remain up on the website for you indefinitely. You can access it anytime. Once you join the
Inspiration Sessionsthey are yours to keep for as long as our website is up.
