Thursday Live, Episode 256: Time to bind your rug

Hi~ I just spent the month of July in Newfoundland and was so excited to visit your studio on my way back home to Upstate NY ~ however I found my self in Amherst on a Sunday 🥲 I was so disappointed. I love your newsletter and your videos!

Erin, I am sorry you missed out on stopping into the studio it would of been a great pit stop on your long drive back!

Great get er done day! Do you ever make small hookings with the scraps? Gift tags, Book marks, tiny ornaments? I end up with alot of strips of linen.

They are good for making smaller mug rugs, magnets, pins. There is lots to create with them!

Rug hooking does indeed lead to travel. When I drive down from Ottawa to visit family near Sydney, it is taking me longer and longer as I have to ensure I have visited all my favorite shops (sometimes twice!!!). What could be done in two days is now taking 4-5 days. Who knew?

That was so great to see how you properly finish a rug ~ thank you for doing the process to show us. I just finished hooking the same rug ~ it was fun since it was bright & cheerful. Now on to the next!

I will be travelling from Digby to Dalvay August
9th 2025 (on vacation from Toronto) and wondered if Deanne will be in the Amherst studio around 12-2:00 pm that day as I’d love to meet her. I receive her Sunday letters (love them) and have hooked 2 small rug projects which I framed and hung on my wall! Please advise if that time won’t work as I’m travelling also to go home through Amhurst on August 12th – heading for Halifax and flying home again! I’m a HUGE FAN of all things Deanne!!!

Louise, I am in and out of the studio all the time. Most days I am around. The only time I know that I will be there is Thursdays at eleven, we welcome your visit anytime though.

Sometimes she will pop in on Saturdays, she is usually in the studio during the week for mornings and afternoons.
