Thursday Live, Episode 247: How to hold the hook

I just watched the live and what stuck out to me was not the way(s) to hold a hook, or the beautiful yarns you have, but the fact that you were able to communicate in a respectful and honest manner with Sandra and she with you and it doesn’t sound like either one of you are mad at each other or dishing each other. Just honesty and communication. What a great lesson for today and always! When you share rug hooking, you never know what you are sharing!

Julie, thats so true. I could really hear what Sandra was saying and how she felt. How we can see things differently. And I do feel the use of the word I can be too much in my writing. I appreciated her comments.

That is right Julie, you never know what your sharing when you share rug hooking. 

Hi Deanne: just saw/heard your comments re last week’s Sunday letter & I have to respond, I live in a village in Ontario and I was so touched by your letter, over the years I have had the honour of meeting several of these women/men, still in their chosen environments, the letter brought tears to my eyes as I can picture that woman as clearly as if she was here,(our local hairdresser still does grey perms).
Thank you, I forwarded it to a friend whose husband died unexpectedly 2 years ago and she has problems moving on, she thanked me profusely as she realized she could easily become that woman, clinging to a past that was no longer relevant.

I can not wait for Thursday lives.. 😊. I also love the Sunday letters. Most times your writing takes me back to an experience of mine. The Sunday letters last week did not disappoint. You took me back to a country store of my childhood. My grand parents lived on the end of a country dirt road on the south shore. The end of their property included a beach. The beach was lovely, but the best place on that road to a youngster was the country store. Everyone called it Freddy’s (that was the name of the ancient man who was usually behind the counter). He was ancient to me .. I was probably 7. The store was filled with all sorts of wonderful things… things that amazed a 7 year old. The cases were rounded glass and inside they held all sorts of candy. Freddy was a kind man he would always add an extra to that bag of penny candy. I remember the smell of the store, the patina of the wooden floors, the bang of the screen door entering or exiting. It was such a special memory.. thank you for your writing each week.
I’ve been in the inspiration sessions since its rollout .. I can’t imagine a week without you in it. Thanks for all you do… 😊

I often watch the “Live” later. I enjoy thinking that I have something special to look forward to.
The same enjoyment I have with the Sunday letters. I particularly enjoyed last Sunday. Do not think twice about using I too often.
We have to learn to not analyze everything all time.
