I have not worked with this shade of green since I used to hook boats in this jelly green. It was a favorite colour for boats, very traditional.
When I stepped away from this rug the other night it was apparent that it needed some dark green to go with it. The kelly was getting too sweet, too pretty. It is that way sometimes. You can only see it when you are walking away or when you come back to the frame. That is why it is essential to take breaks and give your mind some room. It is also important of course for the physicality of Rug hooking. We need to stretch and move to stay good at it. I walk everyday.
So my next move will be to add some dark here so that the jelly green becomes more noticeable.
Drop by and have some tea and homemade oatcakes.
