Hi happy studio friends, I must say that I had some serious doubts about the changing of the colors for the sea garden abstract, but I believe that was due to my sometimes foregone conclusions that if it is a sea garden “ it must be” this and not that. Thanks for continuing to open my eyes to new possibilities Deanne!

Angela, my mother used to make Irish Soda bread all the time. Baking soda and buttermilk will make your bread rise close to the stove. Mom would rise her dough inside the gas stove with just the pilot light. My favorite cooking failure was making her famous fried chicken. I thought I did what I had seen her do many times, but my chicken turned out black instead of golden brown. I went ahead and made the milk gravy with the burnt drippings, which gave me grey gravy. We found out at the table that the chicken was still bloody inside. My husband is a good sport, so we microwaved it and ate it. Deanne, thank you for the phone update and I am super excited to see your new take on the Sea Garden abstract.

We have all had one or two cooking disasters, hopefully you have tried the recipe since then and got it to turn out. Thank you Mary Lee.

I always wonder if I am hooking my hoops high enough. Is there like a 1/4 inch rule?

Deanne Fitzpatrick Rug Hooking Studio replied:
There is no specific rule. 1/4 inch will work.

Thank you, Deanne Fitzpatrick www.hookingrugs.com 1 800 328 7756 create beauty everyday

1/4 inch is a good height, you want to be able to run your hands across your loops without worrying they will fall back through the linen.
