Hi, I am looking for the recipe for Studio Oatcakes. I think it is one of your books but I can’t find it. I know that there are lots of oatcake recipes out there but I really liked yours and so did my husband. Even the page number of the book with the recipe and which book is all I really need. Thx.

Steak recipe for Angela.
Heat cast iron skillet on medium high heat. Add 2 tablespoons olive oil until shimmying per steak. Add room temperature, salted and peppered steak. Cook 4 minutes per side (don’t move steak during 4 minutes). Reduce heat to medium low. Add 3 tablespoons butter, 3 garlic cloves smashed, and one sprig rosemary per steak. Stir butter to melt. Tilt the pan and spoon butter over the steak a few times. Let steak rest for 5 minutes. Delicious and easy.

I, too, need to read books that don’t upset me or I can’t get to sleep. Some favourites of mine are the novels of S.J. Bennett, Dorothy Sayers, Jill Paton Walsh, Ngaio Marsh. M.L.Longworth, c.c.bennison, Steve Burrows, Anne Emery, Charles Finch, and a B.C. author, Iona Whishaw. I loved to read about Dervla Murphy ‘s trip by bicycle to India and Bill Bryson’s trip to Australia, Old favourites include W.O.Mitchell, Robertson Davies, Constance Beresford-Howe, Elizabeth Hay, Jane Urquhart, Today I took out of the library “Valley of the Birdtail, an Indian Reserve, a White Town, and the Road to Reconciliation by by A.S.Sniderman and Douglas Sanderson. In last Saturday’s Globe and Mail there was an article about Booker winner, Eleanor Catton , who wrote “The Luminaries”. She has a new book entitled”Birnam Wood”. I had trouble figuring out what was going on in “The Luminaries” but it got such rave reviews that I will probably reread it. I often turn to humour before bed and in the middle of the night and I’m a great fan of John Mortimer’s Horace Rumpole books.

Just finished watching today’s Thursday Live. and it was very entertaining. The conversations going from one subject to another. Even laughed with you all. And I so
agree, sign up for the Inspiration sessions.
