Happy December, hookers!
Today I am showing you how I hooked Deanne's November Pattern of the Month. I'll be honest...I was thinking of turning this into a Christmas gift but now I'm liking the colors so much I just may have to keep it.
I initially intended to do these flowers in red and pink but then when I was looking at my stash, I had this lovely deep gold that I wanted to use so that led to the flowers being yellow this time. I was also in the middle of dying greys for a customer in the store so there were plenty of greys to choose from for the background. I used a dark grey yarn to sparsely outline the flowers...I didn't want the outline to be too strong which is why I didn't use black
To choose the colour of the pot, I just laid down different colors and chose what I liked best. There would be other colors that would work for the pot with the yellow roses but I found that through trial and error the deep purple didn't detract from the flowers as much. I then added a little bit of plum/ purple to the leaves to make it all come together and I'm very pleased with the end result.
I'm thinking I may need to commission Deanne to draw me a large version of this to hook for the floor, woot woot!!
All the warmest wishes for a safe and happy holiday season,
Denice
