I loved collecting Sea Glass with my children on the beach. They took so much joy in the simplest of finds. This rug is a celebration of this simple pleasure.

Sea glass. Shards of glass smoothed and refined by sand. Material taken and worked over, creating something beautiful and unique. In this way, it is like hooking a rug.

By the end of this course you will have gained valuable rug hooking knowledge and produced your personal interpretation of this pattern.

Hooking this workshop will be a reflective and deepening as we learn to move beyond realism using our imaginations to feel the sea in form, texture, shape and colour.

(Kits for this course will be made with product that is a close as possible to the original kit materials. However due to supplier changes, it may include alternative products in the same colour schemes required.)

In this course, you will learn about:

outlining people
creating simple skin tones for people
hooking sand
hooking sea
hooking sky
dressing people in hooked rugs
hooking clouds

With the videos and simple step by step instruction, as well as an interesting look at approaching rug hooking creatively, you'll be ready to comb the beach.
