Learn how to hook neutrals colours to create calm soothing rugs for your home.
One of the beauties I have discovered about rug hooking is that there is a meditative quality about it. When I hook I get lost, and in getting lost I find myself. To go to that neutral place, that place where my thoughts are humming, I need to hook. Often quietly by myself, but even in a group, that hand over hand pulling of wool through the linen will soothe me and take me to the centre of myself.
It is a fine place to be. It is a place of being present to what you are doing. A place of choosing a palette for its calming easy quality. It is not a place of limitations but a place of discovering new possibilities through boundaries, which are always present.
Thoughts, they are just there, coming and going freely, without judgement. There is no reserve, whatever I think I think. This for me is the zen of rug hooking. The being with the mat, the joy of being present to the wool, to the design, to myself.
So, please join me as I take you on a journey of hooking four gorgeous neutral rugs.
