Thursday Live, Episode 313: Sort of Live and the Rug is Done!

My favourite landscape is the prairies in July, particularly canola fields, grain elevators and hay bales and a dark stormy sky. That’s AB to me that’s where I grew up.

My inspiration for landscapes comes from 2 places. The first, and stronger one, is the Laurentian lake where I spent my summers when I was growing up. I can see the near and far shores and the mountains disappearing into the distance. The second is the Prairie landscape where I have lived for years.

I have been in Arizona my whole life. I love desert landscapes with big rocky mountains, shrubbery, cacti and wildflowers here and there- and sometimes with a lake. I adore Deanne’s field rugs and the ones with the hills and water and houses. Landscape in any art form is my favorite, and I think rug hooking really does it justice.
