I’m so excited about the upcoming book because landscapes are my ‘thing’. I made them as an art quilter, and then COVID hit, and I couldn’t ‘see’ landscapes in fabric anymore. I couldn’t ‘see’ anything, really — and my art quilts became bits and pieces of fabric scraps pieced randomly. I did 4 of these — “Order Out of Chaos”; “Coping with Chaos” (‘Coping strips are strips of fabric quilters use to make blocks of differene sizes fit together); "Sometimes You Can Cope; Somtimes You Can’t", and “Frayed”.
It was only when a friend gave me your “Sunday Letters” book, that I took the plunge into hooking — and you gave me the gift of landscapes again. I can “see” them now, but in yarn and strips of wool or silk, rather than in larger pieces of fabric, appliqueed and thread painted.
I pre-ordered online from Indigo/Chapters Books here in Canada - my favourite bookstore both online and in Red Deer, Edmonton and Calgary. Delivery is estimated in early December. It will be an early Xmas gift from me to me!
