I’m late to the party but the book I am reading is UNRAVELING, by Peggy Orenstein. It is a fascinating tale of the writer wanting to go from the fibre (shearing the sheep) to knitting the garment. It is full of really interesting facts and tales about how we are lucky enough to yarn of all kinds and the evolution of the production of fibre threads. Whether you’re a rug hooker or a knitter I think you’d really enjoy this read.

I have only hooked with wool fabric strips, but after learning about your blog and watching, I see that yarn is also a choice. As a knitter I have plenty of that—my question is-if you are making a rung for the floor, is yarn ‘hardy’ enough for that? Thank you-PLM
